Moustache References

References to and occurrences of players sporting false moustaches abound in SF0.

The earliest documented reference occurs in Impossible Exchange era's Fake Real Jobs Task where players were encouraged to sport a burnt-cork moustache while completing the task. Later reference was made to this in Ink Tea's Dream where Sam Lavigne appeared wearing a fake moustache.

In Glasnost Era, a significant number of players began wearing moustaches as part of their experience of the game. For some it was doctored player photos (representative example: Burn Unit, who wore it as a kind of tribute to Marcel Duchamp's LHOOQ) or fake moustaches in real world settings (representative example: BlueberryMascarpone, Zemaluco, others), real moustaches grown after joining the game (representative example: BlueberryMascarpone), or real moustaches which players had grown before joining the game, and which became strongly identified with their character (representative examples: Conor Pot Pie, The Villain, Herbie Hatman). The placement of fake moustaches in pictures or on objects created for the game became common throughout the era.
