Late in Glasnost, Mean Jeannine's status as a sock puppet was confirmed, but she also ceased to be one. InsatiabilityWith the introduction of Teams?, a Team Sockpuppet was created, leading to greater visibility for sock puppets. Several prominent sock puppets appeared, including scienceguru?'s doppelgangers TheScienceGuru and SCIENCE!guru, the Mayor of Claycord?, mkII Robot? (who is not in the sock puppet team and may, in fact, be an actual robot), and others. Many posts referencing sock puppetry were made, and BlueberryMascarpone even proposed a task of proving another player to be a sock puppet. Meanwhile, there was a Sockpuppet Invasion, where many sockpuppets (apparently automated) appeared in waves, voting en masse. These included the Suzybots, the Probots (a reference to Team Probot, a political action committee supporting robot rights run by DoktorHarmon and mkII Robot?), and charactes named after herbs and spices, among a great many others. They would pick a player, all vote for every task that player had done, and then pick another. |
