Voting

Votes

There are two ways to fulfill your drive for score on SFØ. Once you are finished submitting proof in addition to the points you are automatically rewarded for completing a task other players can award you bonus points through votes. Each player on SFØ is given the ability to vote on other players completions. Each vote received is worth five points. Every player develops their own guidelines for what is vote worthy. Some players vote for anything that amuses them while others have different standards. In previous eras players had a limited number of votes based on how many points they had earned. This has changed so now every player has an unlimited number of votes. The value of Votes used to follow the Fibonacci sequence but this has since changed as well.

High Score

The completion(s) of a task that receives the most votes receives a high score badge. This is dynamic, the high score badge changes when a proof acquires more votes than the previous high score holder.

Retired Tasks/Previous eras

Contrary to some opinions/rumors stated in comments, proofs of retired tasks and proofs submitted in previous eras are still eligible for voting. Points from votes are applied to the totals for the era in which the task proof was submitted, as well as all time totals. There is nothing preventing a player from voting on another player's proof from a previous era. In this way, it is somewhat possible to alter the past!

Super Vote

If a task amuses or impresses you to no end you may want to consider rewarding the player(s) who completed it with a Super Vote. The concept of the super vote originated in the Glasnost Era, when players began calling for methods to reward extraordinary task proofs.
